Dear subscriber,
Well, it's been one year since I was elected to represent the riding of Stikine, and what a better way to celebrate than with the launch of our email newsletter. My staff and I (we call ourselves the Stikine Team) hope that we can use this as a way to communicate what is happening in Victoria and around the constituency. We also hope you can use it as a tool to better communicate with us . Because the work we do here at home, and the issues I raise in the Legislature, all start with someone making contact with us about an issue that is impacting their life.
One of my most important goals as an elected representative is to engage people in a meaningful dialogue about our shared future. This is an ongoing conversation that will take place in coffee shops, chair-lift lineups, hockey arenas, and at chamber of commerce luncheons.
Thanks for reading. I hope to speak with you soon.
Doug

Oil, oil, everywhere.
Oil is on everyone's mind these days, whether it's the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the cost of filling up your car or heating your home, or the pipeline Enbridge is proposing from Alberta's tar sands to Kitimat. I've had a chance to raise the issue of oil in the Legislature these past months, and you can view them by going to my website. Please share this, and other things of interest you see on the site, with your friends and collegues.
